After an expedition into Forlorn Ruin Sector 2, fragments of Major Martin’s diary were recovered, but no trace of his unit could be found.
Four years later, evidence of Major Martin was finally discovered. Major Kelru, who had inherited command, ordered a renewed search. Near the region that leads to Sector 3, they discovered a spatial distortion—and more pages of the diary.
Diary of Major Martin, hero of Lagferant
- Forlorn Ruin Expedition, Day 284
While camped, a powerful monster we had never seen attacked. It was fast and precise, killing the soldiers one by one. We retreated toward the area leading to Sector 3, but we couldn’t enter. Just as we thought we would be wiped out, space twisted and we were dragged to an unknown place.
- Forlorn Ruin Expedition, Day 360
The Progmare here seem different from the Neo Progmare and the experimental creatures of Forlorn Ruin. They look like evolved originals. There are signs of group life everywhere—and even traces of hunts for gigantic animals from ancient times.
- Forlorn Ruin Expedition, Day 495
We explored to find a way home, but we were trapped at the entrance. With supplies gone and the new Progmare more intelligent than the originals, moving and scouting is almost impossible. Is this where we die? Most of the unit is dead… or took their own lives. I… now…
Only torn fragments of the diary were found. Based on them, Major Kelru studied the distortion near the Sector 3 route and forced a runaway scientist to build a device for travel.
